Auroville Radio interviewed me, December 22nd 2014, during my trip to Auroville near Pondicherry, India. Roland Katz, a wonderful man who knows how to hold space for the expression of the authentic self, and who know how to connect souls, did this interview.
Explored topics: evolution, collective intelligence, language, ontology, spiritual tradition, Auroville, integral wealth, gift economy, martial arts, truth, courage…
In the ‘about me‘ page, under the short section titled “Sex, sex, sex”, I share a few words about love, women and sex. Regardless of which context, culture or country in the world, these lines have provoked many conversations. I keep seeing how people seek answers to the same eternal questions about love. I have also discerned the patterns of love that prevail in different form of collective intelligence and different forms of consciousness.
In this series of articles, I will share with you how I experience love. Since the dawn of time, people have written powerfully of love; I don’t want just to rehash their work. However I think collective intelligence as a discipline offers an innovative way to look at love. Also, as a licensed (by myself ) explorer of life, I cannot not explore love, love liberated from its imposed dysfunctional forms from the past. So, how can I love today? What can I invent? How can I reconfigure myself in order to build harmonious, free, erotic and ecstatic relationships through the celebration of body, mind and spirit?
You may find these articles sometimes abstract or esoteric. From where you stand, you may find my words about sex and body crude or indecent. From where I stand I see sex and body as poetic instruments for the art of life. Through these words I want to offer my most naked truth.
First things first, let’s begin with some foreplay.
If you happen to speak with me, sometimes you will hear more silence than words. You may find it a little awkward if you don’t know me, specially on the phone. It doesn’t mean I get bored or I don’t know what to say. Don’t bother! My moments of silence, sometimes my with eyes closed, happen because I breathe. Indeed, I have decided to follow two principles: breathe before speaking, speak only with permission.
Breathe before speaking
Taking the time of a long breathing before speaking allows me to engage in a quest for words and answers that the inner autopilot will never offer. Platitudes, certitudes coming from the doxa, behaviors imposed by politeness or morals don’t interest me. The autopilot knows very well how to defend those lines, it gives us the illusion to operate as a complete and congruent system. Breathing deactivates these mechanisms. I can become again present to myself, to my body, my emotions, my true self. I can contemplate other possibilities, welcome crazy ideas, listen to the inner child, put on my clown nose, let soul spring up, allow inspiration. With years of practice, every long breath has become a meditation. I meditate a good part of the day while in motion. Don’t you think that inspired action offers a little more potential than autopilot?
Sometimes I don’t allocate time for this breathing, usually because I want to say something really stupid (good at it!). Also when this breathing may create too much disturbance, I prefer to play by the good old social codes, at least until I can clarify my behavior to the person.
I speak exclusively with permission, one when someone asks me. When I get interrupted, which of course happens a lot, I stop and let the person speak. If he/she doesn’t want or need to listen to me anymore, why should I force? I give the floor back and offer my listening, very simply. Gift economy means that too.
From the collective intelligence perspective…
From the social engineering perspective, these two transformed social codes — breathing before speaking, and speaking only with an offered floor– work like modified social DNA. In fact I precisely apply the six agreements.
Although I do not procelytize and I only apply this social genetics to myself, it has a strong collective and individual impact. For me: happiness nourished by the pure joy of breathing, and from enjoying the peace of non-competitive speaking. For the collective: this practice triggers trust, kindness and listening. Who needs to get irritated or distrust a person who remains neutral, and only offers his/her word when asked? People never listened to me as much before I applied these principles.
I have coached many groups who decided to operate from the six principles. Their testimony leaves no ambiguity. Everything shifts: their decision making process, their way to flesh out problems, to manage their relationships, social dynamics, ideas, solutions…
And you? Want to try? Why don’t you share your experience in the comments below?

You can’t conquer happiness, but you can chose it. Claim joy within you, and thanks to you, the universe invents itself.
The masterpiece of yourself nourishes its own purpose. Your temporal being becomes a musical instrument, the one you chose to play celestial music. Do not confuse the instrument and the melody. Instruments play separated, distinctly, temporally. Music brings oneness, timelessness, universality. Music celebrates miscegenation and communion. In its own ecstasy, God dances through it.
Look at happiness as a violin close to your hand. Whatever the circumstances of your life, here and now, you can decide to grasp it and to play it. Do not feel upset by some sour notes or by your clumsy fingers. Your Creative Joy will open the way to mastery, and not the contrary.
Do not make yourself dependent on the other, on your parent, your child, your friend or your lover… Do not wait for them. Do not make them a crutch. Once liberated, infused with your own joy, you will celebrate with them. Then you will truly experience what union means.
The essence of your melody will attract the musicians who will come to play with you. Would you like them sad, academic, conventional? Would you like them unbridled, happy, free, creative? You make every single decision on what you attract in your life.
Undomesticate yourself, compose that Celestial Music with the strings of your own Being. Do not restrict yourself. Become your own masterpiece.
By doing so you will give your greatest gift to your parents, your children, your friends and to the whole world.
The earliest preoccupation of man in his awakened thoughts and, as it seems, his inevitable and ultimate preoccupation,—for it survives the longest periods of scepticism and returns after every banishment,—is also the highest which his thought can envisage. It manifests itself in the divination of Godhead, the impulse towards perfection, the search after pure Truth and unmixed Bliss, the sense of a secret immortality. The ancient dawns of human knowledge have left us their witness to this constant aspiration; today we see a humanity satiated but not satisfied by victorious analysis of the externalities of Nature preparing to return to its primeval longings. The earliest formula of Wisdom promises to be its last, — God, Light, Freedom, Immortality.
I decide to welcome and embrace all the wealth that springs around me, in its material and immaterial forms.
I welcome wealth as what brings us closer to the manifestation of truth, goodness and beauty.
I welcome wealth as life giving life, and life evolving life, for the great alliance between matter and light.
I commit to build meaningful, generative agreements that lead to harmonious and joyful relationships with my human brothers and sisters and with other living beings.
I commit to offer others what they need for the fulfillment of their life.
I commit to welcome what others offer me for the fulfillment of my life.
I commit to nakedness and vulnerability, and to welcome my incompleteness, so I can open myself to receiving from others.
I commit to welcome others’ nakedness and vulnerability, and to welcome their incompleteness. There I find the joy of proposing my gifts.
I will not support whatever keeps living beings separated from Wealth.
I will not support ideologies and acts that degrade abundance into artificial scarcity, for that triggers greed and war.
But rather than fighting against these ideologies and acts, I will tap into the infinite creativity that birth gave us. I will become an artist, I will co-create with my fellow brothers and sisters, and new paths will reveal. The future will not come from my reaction, future will come from my creation. Future manifests pure art, it springs up from my presence to the present.
I will invent and master every tool, technology and practice that allows the strict application of this vow, in the context of our epoch and culture.
